On 15 August 2026, the Preliminary Determination was issued in the anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of Soda Ash from China. The preliminary findings established dumping, material injury to the domestic industry, and a causal link between the two, resulting in the imposition of a 𝟭𝟬.𝟴𝟱% 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗱𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝘁𝘆.
Following the Preliminary Determination, the provisional anti-dumping duty will remain in place for four months while the investigation continues. As no information was received from the exporters/producers in response to the questionnaires, the dumping determination was made on the basis of the best information available under Section 32 of the Act. We hope that the Final Determination will result in the continuation of anti-dumping duties for a period of five years.
The imposition of provisional anti-dumping measures on Soda Ash imports has provided confidence to the domestic industry that the National Tariff Commission is actively addressing unfair trade practices and taking timely measures to protect domestic manufacturers from the injurious effects of dumped imports.
We are representing the domestic industry in this investigation and remain committed to supporting our clients throughout every stage of anti-dumping investigation, from the initiation of proceedings through to the Final Determination, with a focus on protecting their interests and ensuring effective representation.
