We are extremely pleased to share that the National Tariff Commission (the Commission) has concluded on April 18, 2026, the third Sunset Review of anti-dumping duties on imports of Hydrogen Peroxide from seven countries (Belgium, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Türkiye). The Commission has determined the likelihood of continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury and has extended the duties (3.52% to 84.48%) for a further period of five years.
This case represents two significant milestones. First, it originated as Pakistan’s first-ever anti-dumping investigation based on material retardation when concluded in 2011. At that time, the concept was largely unexplored domestically. Our firm undertook extensive and in-depth research, examining jurisprudence and practices of leading international trade remedy authorities, engaging with international counterparts, and carefully adapting those principles to the domestic legal framework. This rigorous approach enabled us to develop a strong and defensible case, which was ultimately decided in favor of the domestic industry. We are proud to have been part of shaping and advancing trade remedy practice in Pakistan. Through such pioneering initiatives, our team has developed deep technical and legal expertise, and today, our continued involvement in over 80% of trade remedy investigations in Pakistan reflects the confidence placed in us and positions us as the first and best choice for such matters in the country.
Second, with this third sunset review determination, the measure will now effectively remain in force for nearly two decades (16 years already passed). This unprecedented continuation of anti-dumping duties for approximately 20 years sets a strong example for other investigations and demonstrates the long-term effectiveness of well-founded trade remedy measures. We have had the privilege of representing the domestic industry throughout this entire period.
This outcome reflects the strength of the case, consistency in legal strategy, and the effective use of trade remedy measures to protect domestic industry.
We thank our clients for their continued trust and collaboration.
