On December 01, 2016, the National Tariff Commission, Government of Pakistan (NTC) has concluded\u00a0a Sunset Review of Anti-dumping Duties Imposed on Dumped Imports of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) Film imported from China, Oman, Saudi Arabia and UAE.<\/p>\n
Antidumping duty\u00a0against dumped imports of BOPP Film imposed in the range of\u00a022.95% to 57.09%<\/b>\u00a0with effect from April 01, 2012 for three years, has now been extended for a further period of five years effective from August 04, 2015. Our client “Tri-Pack Films Limited has already enjoyed dumping free\u00a0domestic\u00a0market for more than four years, and\u00a0continuation of duty will provide a total period of 8 years protection\u00a0against dumping from China, Oman, Saudi Arabia and UAE. Such a\u00a0protection against\u00a0unfair trade practice is likely to contribute to the successful operating results and sustainable performance of the domestic industry. Undeniably, the protection for the eight complete years is a good time for any industry to be stable in the domestic market and expand its presence into international markets.<\/p>\n
